6th Venice Hospitality Challenge - 19th October 2020
Officially recognised as the Grand Prix of Venice, this unique and annual event combines the nautical and sporting tradition of the Serenissima with the glamour of Venice. Ten maxi yachts compete in St. Mark’s Basin for the Challenge Trophy, hand-made by master artisan glass-makers from Murano.
Venice Marathon - 27th October 2020
One of the most important marathons in the world with a spectacular three kilometer finish in the unique surroundings of the lagoon city.
Festa Della Salute - 21st November 2020
A religious feast day instituted in 1630 celebrating the city’s miraculous delivery from the plague. A pontoon bridge is strung across the Grand Canal to the Madonna della Salute Basilica so Venetians may make the pilgrimage to pay homage to the Madonna and to light a candle asking her to keep them in good health.
Venice Carnival - 8th February – 25th February 2020
The most iconic event of Venice and the world’s oldest and most elegant Carnival appreciated for the opulence of its costumes. Three weeks of celebrations, traditions, exclusive masked balls that take place throughout the city.
St. Mark’s Festival - 25th April 2020
Celebrating St. Mark, the patron saint of Venice. It is also known as the rosebud festival because men traditionally offer a rosebud to the women they love.
Festa Della Sensa (Ascension Day) – 23rd – 24th May 2020
A centuries-old symbolic ceremony celebrating Venice’s tight marriage to the Sea.
46th Vogalonga – 31th May 2020
A popular regatta since 1974 open to Venetians and visitors. This noncompetitive event follows a 30km course through the lagoon and down the Grand Canal.
International Boat Show - June 2020
The most prestigious and oldest international exhibition of its kind, the 58th edition will be curated by Ralph Rugoff.
Art Night Venezia - June 2020
An evening of free art and culture taking place in the city museums and around the city.
Festa Del Redentore - 18th – 19th July 2020
The most popular event in the Venetian calendar. Instituted in 1576 this characteristic annual festival celebrates the end of a terrible plague. Fireworks illuminate St. Mark’s basin on the Saturday night amongst feasting and revelry.
77th Venice International Film Festival – 2 – 12 September 2020
Organised by the Biennale of Venice and the oldest film festival in the world, the festival promotes international cinema in all its forms in a spirit of freedom and dialogue.
Historical Regatta – 6th September 2020
A spectacular procession of decorated historic craft along the Grand Canal followed by competitive regattas, a trial of strength and skill for the city’s gondoliers and other expert rowers.
Venice Glass Week - September 2020
An international festival dedicated to the art of glass, involving major institutions and celebrated artists with the aim of sustaining one of the city’s most important artistic activities.
