Skiing and Snowboarding

World-class skiing is at your finger tips in Aspen, Colorado. With four world-class mountains within reach (Snowmass, Aspen, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk Mountain) there is terrain available for every age and ability. The St. Regis Aspen Resort is located at the base of Aspen Mountain and puts you in great proximity to the town and the mountain. Indulge in Aspen skiing or snowboarding from approximately Thanksgiving weekend to the first few weeks in April. Ski Valet make the transition from guest room to ski slope seamless. They assist with ski and snowboard equipment as well as offer local knowledge of terrain and conditions.

Winter Fly Fishing

Aspen’s mild winters make it the ideal place for winter fly fishing. Onsite adventure guides from Aspen Outfitting will take you to the best spots in the Roaring Fork River as well as other local streams and private water.

Cross Country Skiing

As trails wind along Castle Creek and traverse through the Valley beneath the peaks of the Elk Mountain range, guests find themselves engulfed in beauty and silence. Lunch at the “famous” Pine Creek Cookhouse may be included for an additional fee.

Family Activities

Teach the kids to ski in Aspen! Kids 6 and under ski or snowboard for free at Aspen Snowmass. Families also enjoy endless activities together, such as sledding, snowmobile rides or a horse drawn carriage ride through town. Enjoy s’mores or dinner by the firepits at St. Regis Aspen. Apres Ski

From live music, cocktails and conversations by the fire at our Shadow Mountain Lounge to the nightlife and culture found in downtown Aspen, located right outside of our door, there is so much to do and see after a day on the mountain. Snowshoe Tours

Learn the fundamentals of snowshoeing as you visit scenic trails with a naturalist guide. The fun terrain is appropriate for all abilities and fitness levels. A healthy snack is included or a gourmet lunch may be purchased for an additional cost.

Snowmobiling

Spend a day exploring the high country, propelled past frozen blue crystal waterfalls and over snowy vistas. Then enjoy a delightful hot lunch in a rustic cabin before riding back to The St. Regis Aspen Resort for Après ski at Shadow Mountain Lounge.

Ice Skating

The Silver Circle Ice Rink is adjacent to the hotel. Aspen’s only outdoor ice rink offers rentals and skating open daily from 12:00pm to 9:00pm. If you prefer indoor ice skating, the City of Aspen Ice Garden offers daily public ice skating for all ages.

Sleigh Ride

Enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride to a log cabin for lunch or dinner.

Mountain Biking

Aspen’s backcountry roads and picturesque mountain trails appeal to all levels of cyclists. Downhill tours, overnight hut trips, and half and full day trips will take you through and over a variety of terrain. Please contact our St. Regis Concierge for trail maps and our recommended routes.

Fly Fishing & More

The St. Regis Aspen partners with the Aspen Outfitting Company to provide travelers and residents with an unparalleled selection of guided activities, ranging from: Fly fishing, clay target shooting, pistol shooting and upland bird hunting. Welcoming all levels of expertise, their professionally certified instructors are friendly and knowledgeable on the local area and these activities.

Paragliding

A paraglider is a soaring aircraft that is transportable in a backpack. With just a few running steps, the launch is precise and truly exhilarating. Your flight will be piloted by a professional USHGA certified tandem pilot from Aspen Mountain.

Whitewater Rafting

The Roaring Fork Valley is uniquely situated to provide an incredible variety of whitewater trips offering varying degrees of remoteness, difficulty and scenery. The summer months offer tremendous whitewater within reach of the St. Regis Aspen Resort.

Hot Air Ballooning

Experience the spectacular beauty of the Rocky Mountains from a different perspective, gently floating across the sky in a hot air balloon. You will savor the rugged landscape, views of 14,000-foot peaks and beautiful open meadows below.

Rock Climbing

This activity begins with movement on rock, including exercises and bouldering techniques. The time proven philosophy of “learn by doing” builds self confidence with extensive top-rope belay climbing on the magnificent granite crags of Independence Pass.

Off-Road Jeep Tours

Guided 4X4 backcountry excursions are available throughout the surrounding areas of Aspen. This trip will show you the route taken by the original pioneers traveling to Aspen using supply wagons pulled by mules and oxen.

Horseback Riding

Aspen, Colorado offers horseback riding through breathtaking Aspen groves and the Snowmass Wilderness area. Enjoy the beautiful views that surround you as you embark on a relaxing ride through the mountains. From beginning to experienced riders, there are a number of horseback riding excursions available to suit your needs. Please contact our St. Regis Concierge to help plan your next adventure.

Hiking

Hiking Backcountry excursions (two – four hours) take you by winding rivers, through meadows of wildflowers and groves of Aspen trees. Hikes are led by experienced guides who discuss the area’s historical and geological backgrounds and the flora and fauna.

Tennis

Guests will be challenged to adjust their game to the thin air at this altitude. Four hard courts are available in the historic West End of Aspen. If you are interested in a tournament, a coordinator will facilitate a round robin tournament.
