St Augustine

Known as the “Ancient City,” St. Augustine, Florida, was founded by Spain in 1565 and is the oldest city in the United States. Hotel guests in St. Augustine can see Europe’s flair in the city’s cobblestone streets, quaint cafes and the surviving Spanish architecture.

Visit the Castillo de San Marcos, a fort built in the 17th century, which for more than 200 years was home to the armies of three different countries that occupied St. Augustine. And if you aren’t too easily spooked, St. Augustine is reputed to be one of the most haunted cities in the United States! Ghost tours are a popular nighttime activity for many of our St. Augustine hotel and resort guests.

Although surrounded by St. Augustine history, hotel guests also enjoy combing the city’s pristine beaches or parasailing on the Atlantic. The balmy climate makes it the perfect place to take in an afternoon or evening stroll down St. George Street to one the many local St. Augustine restaurants before heading back to your comfortable beach hotel.

For things to do in St. Augustine that’ll have you enjoying the beautiful weather, check out Anastasia State Park. Walk along the nature trail or explore the rock formations at the Coquina Quarry. Whether you’re a golf connoisseur or a novice, check out some of the public St. Augustine golf courses like South Hampton Golf Club.
And the city in wintertime is just as alluring, with the Nights of Lights celebration filling the streets and glowing with millions of holiday lights.
